Effective January 26, 2020, the Postal Service™ will revise Notice 123, Price List, to reflect changes to prices for the international mailing services noted in this article. The following information is based on Postal Regulatory Commission (PRC) Order No. 5340 issued on December 6, 2019, as well as PRC Order No. 5321 issued on November 22, 2019, in Docket No. R2020-1. In those orders, the PRC found that the First-Class Mail®, including First-Class Mail International® (FCMI), Marketing Mail, Periodicals, Package Services, and Special Services products and related mail classification changes in the Postal Service notice filed in Docket No. R2020-1 may go into effect on January 26, 2020. The orders are available on the PRC website at prc.gov.
The Postal Service will increase prices for single-piece FCMI letters, postcards, and flats by approximately 4.6 percent. The price for a single-piece 1-ounce letter will increase to $1.20. The FCMI letter nonmachinable surcharge remains $0.21.
The Postal Service will increase fees for certain market-dominant international extra services, including the following:
n Certificate of Mailing service: Fees will increase, as follows:
n Return Receipt service: The fee will increase to $4.15.
n Customs Clearance and Delivery fee: The fee will increase to $6.50.
n International Business Reply™ Service (IBRS): The fee for IBRS cards will increase to $1.50, and the fee for IBRS envelopes will increase to $2.00.
The Postal Service will incorporate these revisions into the January 26, 2020 edition of Notice 123, Price List, which is available via Postal Explorer® at pe.usps.com.
