Temporary Service Suspension for Middle East Region

Effective January 13, 2020, the Department of Defense (DOD) Military Postal Service Agency has requested the Postal Service™ temporarily suspend mail acceptance for some of the DOD military ZIP Codes™ located in the Middle East region. DOD ZIP Codes affected by the suspension include:

n 09305 – BDSC

n 09308 – BESMAYA COMBAT TRAINING CENTER

n 09333 – AL ASAD AIR BASE

n 09348 – FOB UNION III

n 09378 – CAMP TAJI

n 09381 – AL TAQQADUM AIRBASE

n 96610-0800 – SPMGTAF 2/7 DET9

n 96610-1500 – TF SPARTAN 20.1

Until further notice, all Post Offices and other acceptance locations must not accept any mail destined to the Zip Codes listed here.

For already deposited items, Postal Service employees must endorse them “Mail Service Suspended — Return to Sender” and then place them in the mail stream for return.

The Postal Service will, upon request, refund postage and fees on mail returned due to the suspension of service, or the sender may remail them with the existing postage once service has been restored. When remailing under this option, customers must cross out the markings “Mail Service Suspended — Return to Sender.”
