Monthly Sustainability Posters and Service Talks

Foster a sustainability culture in your department or work site with our monthly sustainability service talk and poster program. The Office of Sustainability created these sustainability posters and service talks to cover 12 important topics for Postal Service™ employees. They reflect simple actions that employees can take to create a more sustainable future, such as:

n Using environmentally-friendly products,

n Recycling old electronics,

n Recycling paper and plastic,

n Conserving water, and

n Saving energy.

For each topic, there is a poster managers can place on bulletin boards or in break rooms, as well as a service talk to share with team members. While all topics may not be relevant to every work site, many of them still apply to our daily lives at home.

To download available sustainability posters and service talks, visit blue.usps.gov/sustainability/service-talks.htm.

For July, the focus is on our National Recycling Operation (NRO). The NRO was created to standardize recycling processes across the USPS® delivery network.

Participation can help reduce local landfill costs, generate additional revenue from recycling, and conserve natural resources. For more information about the NRO, visit blue.usps.gov/sustainability/service-talks.htm#July

Thank you for putting your stamp on a greener tomorrow.

National Recycling Operation. Post offices and plants partnering for profit. Associate Offices (AO) transport recyclable paper, cardboard and clear shrink wrap to their servicing plants. Plants consolidate recyclables and sell on the commodities market. Impact: reduces local landfill costs, generates revenue from recycling, conserves natural resources.
