Customs Forms Online Difficulties Experienced in Remote Locations: Military Post Offices and State Department Offices

Offices located outside of the U.S. Customs Territory may have experienced difficulties using the Customs Form Online (CFO) platform/application before November 23, 2020.

The United States Postal Service® was made aware of problems after a recent software release caused significant issues for a small segment of users at Military Post Office (MPO) and Diplomatic Post Office (DPO) sites worldwide. In early November 2020, USPS® determined that a change must be made in order to solve this issue.

The resulting software change does two things for all users of the CFO platform/application at MPO and DPO sites:

n Customers were originally allowed to begin a transaction and present a barcode at the retail window for completion of the process. Now, these sites are no longer able to scan in a barcode for transactions that have not been fully completed by a customer.

n Removing this function has eliminated the issues these sites experienced.

We realize these changes will continue to impact the customer experience. We made these changes to restore overall functionality to CFO for all customers, and we hope to return the ability to complete the process at a retail window, as well as make improvements to usability and stability, in the new calendar year.

Thank you for understanding and for your efforts to serve Military and State Department customers.
