DMM Revision: Share Mail

Effective January 24, 2021, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), sections 202.8.1 and 604.5.5, for clarity and consistency, and to update Share Mail® standards.

The Postal Service is transitioning Centralized Account Processing System accounts to Enterprise Payment System accounts. Section 604.5.5a will be updated to reflect this change. Section 604.5.5 will also be revised to clarify that Share Mail is a many-to-many mailing service, and to update the position title from manager to director of the executive to whom customers wishing to participate in the Share Mail program must submit their request.

In addition, the Postal Service will revise sections 202.8.1 and 604.5.5c for clarity and consistency regarding the Share Mail requirement to use facing identification mark (FIM) E.

Although the Postal Service will not publish these revisions in the DMM until January 24, 2021, the standards are effective immediately.
