Effective February 25, 2021, the Postal Service™ is revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®), parts 134 and 271, to align the text with the standards established by the Universal Postal Convention.
This article includes necessary revisions that were inadvertently not included in the following two Postal Bulletin articles:
n “IMM Revision: Changes to Pricing and Products for International Mailing Services” in Postal Bulletin 22482 (12-7-17, pages 16–20 and 41–44), which noted that merchandise was no longer permitted in First-Class Mail International® service but had to be sent by First-Class Package International Service® or another acceptable service.
n “IMM Revision: First-Class Mail International Flats Weight Limit” in Postal Bulletin 22520 (5-23-19, pages 7–9), which noted a lower maximum weight limit on First-Class Mail International large envelopes (flats).
Consequently, effective February 25, 2021, the Postal Service™ is revising IMM parts 134 and 271 to reflect the actual standards.
