Effective March 1, 2021, the Postal Service™ suspended acceptance of Priority Mail Express International® service to the Faroe Islands. This suspension followed formal notification received from Post Danmark (the designated operator of Denmark) indicating that it will cease to provide Priority Mail Express International service for items addressed to the Faroe Islands effective March 1, 2021. Post Danmark released the formal notification through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 30, dated February 22, 2021.
After March 1, 2021, Post Danmark will treat Priority Mail Express International items addressed to the Faroe Islands that arrive in Denmark as Priority Mail International parcels and will deliver them accordingly.
This suspension does not affect the following services:
n Global Express Guaranteed® service,
n Priority Mail International® service,
n First-Class Mail International® service,
n First-Class Package International Service®,
n International Priority Airmail® service, or
n M-Bag® items to the Faroe Islands.
Although effective March 1, 2021, the Postal Service will make the appropriate revisions to Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) and Notice 123, Price List, during the next international competitive products price change. For more information on the IMM revision, see the article entitled “IMM Revision: Individual Country Listing for the Faroe Islands” in this Postal Bulletin.
