Effective May 6, 2021, the Postal Service™ is revising the Individual Country Listing for France in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to note revisions to the prohibitions relating to arms and human remains.
These revisions are based on consultation with La Post (the designated postal operator of France).

[Delete the entry “Arms, ammunition” and add two entries in alphabetical order to read as follows:]
Ammunition.
Arms, except antique firearms. Antique firearms must be declared as such on the Customs Declaration for control and clearance purposes through Saint Etienne customs office, Banc national d’épreuve de Saint Etienne.

Human and cremated remains.

Although effective May 6, 2021, the Postal Service will incorporate these revisions into the next edition of the online IMM, which is available via Postal Explorer® at pe.usps.com.
