Effective June 17, 2021, the Postal Service™ is revising the Individual Country Listing for Austria in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to note revisions to the list of prohibitions.
These revisions are based on a formal request that Österreichische Post AG (the designated operator of Austria) made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 79, dated May 17, 2021.

[Revise the entry that reads “Arms and weapons.” to read as follows:]
Arms, ammunition, and weapons, including parts and accessories thereof, and antique weapons that are more than 100 years old.

Firearms, including parts and accessories thereof, replica firearms, articles made to resemble firearms, and toy guns.

Although effective June 17, 2021, the Postal Service will incorporate these revisions into a later edition of the online IMM, which is available via Postal Explorer® at pe.usps.com.
