In preparation for the fiscal year 2021 closeout, there will be a freeze period from September 26 to October 22, 2021, for all 6-digit Finance Number Control Master (FNCM) requests and General Ledger Account (GLA)/Account Identifier Code (AIC) changes. You can submit requests for 6–digit finance numbers and GLA updates, but we will not implement them until after the freeze period.
You must submit requests by the following dates to be effective before the freeze period:
n 6-digit finance numbers requests:
n The date to submit discontinued finance numbers was Tuesday, August 24. The first effective date after the freeze period will be November 1.
n The date to submit new finance numbers, name changes, and realignments is Wednesday, September 15. The first effective date after the freeze period will be October 23.
n GLA/AIC changes:
n The date to submit requests for new GLA/AIC codes was Thursday, August 26. The first effective date after the freeze period will be November 1.
During the freeze, the Postal Service™ will continue to process 10-digit finance number requests. For exceptions, please send an email to FNCM Headquarters at TC48H0@usps.gov. We will consider each request on a case-by-case basis.
