Dimension Changes for 14 Expedited Packaging Supplies

The United States Postal Service^® (USPS^®) produces and fulfills over 181 million Standard and Specialized Expedited Packaging Supplies orders annually (i.e., Priority Mail Express^®, Priority Mail^®, and Global Express Guaranteed^®):

n Standard Packaging is available to customers at store.usps.com/store/home (with some items also available in retail offices).

n Specialized Packaging is available to larger customers who provide USPS with a minimum of $75,000 in annual revenue.

Currently, USPS is working on an effort to increase mailpiece visibility throughout the processing network. After reviewing the Standard and Specialized Packaging, USPS is changing the dimensions of 11 Standard items and three Specialized items. Changing the dimensions will allow the boxes and envelopes to be processed on mail processing equipment more efficiently, increase visibility, and reduce the need for manual package sortation.

The Expedited Packaging Supplies with new dimensions will go into effect in late September 2021. USPS will continue to fulfill orders for the Expedited Packaging Supplies with the current dimensions while supplies last. Once supplies with the current dimensions have been depleted, orders for these items will be fulfilled with supplies that have the new dimensions.

The boxes and envelopes listed in the two tables show both current and new dimensions.
