Effective September 12, 2021, the United States Postal Service® will offer Priority Mail Express® (PME) Cold Chain Packaging ($48.00 for one pack of three) to customers at store.usps.com/store/home.
Cold Chain Packaging makes it possible for customers to ship items through the mail stream that they would like to remain cold for up to 72 hours at 45 degrees or below. The customer is responsible for supplying their own cooling material (i.e., gel packs) to keep the items cold and must purchase PME postage at the time of mailing. Cold Chain Packaging includes a PME box and a polystyrene cooler insert that is 100 percent reusable.
Customers may purchase PME Cold Chain Packaging at store.usps.com/store/home using search terms such as “Cold Chain,” “Cooler,” “Cold,” or “Polystyrene.” Customers may also type the following SKU number into the search bar: CCB003.
PME Cold Chain Packaging will help our customers ship perishables and other items such as medications and pharmaceuticals through the Postal Service™ network.
