IMM Revision: Certificate of Mailing

Effective December 30, 2021, the Postal Service™ is revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®), sections 311.21 and 312.21, to reflect that a certificate of mailing is not available for purchase for an item mailed as Free Matter for the Blind. These revisions align the policy with IMM 272.6.

A certificate of mailing (individual pieces) cannot be obtained in combination with Registered Mail items, insured parcels, Free Matter for the Blind, or items paid with a permit imprint.
