In the article, Handbook EL-505 Revision: Changing Handbook Name and Updating Standards, in Postal Bulletin 22601 (6-30-22, page 11), the effective date was given incorrectly as June 30, 2022.
We are reprinting the article here with the corrected text shown in bold type:
The Postal Service™ is working to revise Handbook EL–505, Injury Compensation, to reflect changes to applicable U.S. Postal Service® regulations, policies, and guidelines. In summary, the Postal Service plans to:
n Change the handbook name to Workers’ Compensation.
n Update standards in various chapters.
n Delete Chapter 2 and the index.
n Remove obsolete information.
n Update position titles.
n Revise text to more closely reflect standards and wording in the U.S. Office of Workers’ Compensation Programs — Federal Employees’ Compensation Act Procedure Manual.
The Postal Service will incorporate these revisions into the next edition of online Handbook EL-505, which it plans to publish later this year. Standards in the revisions will not be effective until they have been published.
