Effective November 3, 2022, the Postal Service™ is revising the Individual Country Listing for Rwanda in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to reflect changes to the Observations section.
In a formal request made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 31, dated March 20, 2020, National Post Office (Iposita) — the designated operator of Rwanda — requests that the mailer include the addressee’s mobile telephone number on each parcel or registered mail item destined to Rwanda. This contact information enables Iposita to notify the addressee via short message service (SMS) before delivery.
