Stamp Announcement 23-8: Great Smoky Mountains Stamp

FDOI

On January 22, 2023, in Gatlinburg, TN, the United States Postal Service® will issue the $28.75 Great Smoky Mountains Priority Mail Express® stamp, in one design, in a pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) pane of four stamps (Item 129200). This stamp will go on sale nationwide January 22, 2023, and must not be sold or canceled before the first-day-of-issue.

The new Priority Mail Express stamp celebrates the beauty of the Great Smoky Mountains. The Smokies are home to extensive national lands and a vast array of native plants and animals. The stamp art captures an iconic mountain scene located near Newfound Gap between Gatlinburg, TN, and Cherokee, NC. In the foreground, a red-tailed hawk flies over the landscape. Art director Greg Breeding designed the stamp with original art by Dan Cosgrove.
