Effective December 2022, the Postal Service™ revised PS Form 3972, Leave Year 2023 Absence Analysis, to update the form information for the 2023 Leave Year.
The December 2022 edition replaces the November 2022 edition, which did not reflect the correct start date for Leave Year 2023. Per Employee and Labor Relations Manual, section 512.12a, the leave year begins “with the first day of the first complete pay period in a calendar year.” For Leave Year 2023, the correct start date is January 14, 2023, as is shown on the December 2022 edition of PS Form 3972.
