Beginning in 2008, the United States Postal Service began issuing quarterly and annual financial statements in accordance with Securities and Exchange Commission guidelines. Our financial reports are submitted to the Office of Management and Budget and the Postal Regulatory Commission, and are available on-line at www.usps.com. The Postal Service adheres to U.S. Generally Accepted Accounting Principles. In 2010, the Postal Service complied with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act (SOX) as mandated by the Postal Accountability and Enhancement Act of 2006. This was one of the largest successful SOX implementations on record and the first within the federal government.
