Postmaster General Jack Potter and Academy Award-winning actor Karl Malden unveil the plaque renaming the Barrington Station Post Office in Malden's honor.

Actor Karl Malden's work in the 70s, 80s and 90s earned this celebrity recognition accorded few in his industry - a Los Angeles Post Office building named for him. Barrington Station was renamed in Malden's honor recently following passage of a bill introduced by U.S. Congressman Henry Waxman (D-CA).

Malden is a member emeritus of the Citizens' Stamp Advisory Committee (CSAC), the group responsible for choosing which subjects appear on U.S. stamps. On hand to honor him at the event were family members, Postmaster General Jack Potter and lifetime friend Kirk Douglas.

Kirk's son, Michael, could not attend, but sent a letter teasing his former co-star with the line, "Karl - a stamp of your own wasn't enough? You had to have an entire Post Office?"
