Postal Service Policy on Sexual Orientation, Gender Identification, and Gender Stereotyping

The Postal ServiceTM has developed a new policy on sexual orientation, gender identification, and gender stereotyping to prohibit harassment against all gender non- conforming individuals and to require management action in the face of any such harassment (see letter on page 56).

The Postal Service encourages employees to report any deviation from this policy to a management official at the earliest opportunity and to utilize Publication 552, Manager's Guide to Understanding Sexual Harassment.

This policy will help further the Postal Service's goal of maintaining a diverse, tolerant, and harassment-free workforce.
