International Mail
ANNOUNCEMENT
USPS Web Tools Can Make Your Global Business Click
The Postal Service™ now offers Application Program
Interfaces (APIs) for Global Priority Mail and Global
Airmail parcel post shipping labels through USPS Web
Tools. These new international online shipping APIs allow
customers to print shipping labels that combine mailing
information with PS Form 2976, Customs Declaration
CN 22 - Sender's Declaration (green label), and PS Form
2976-A, Customs Declaration and Dispatch Note - CP 72,
thereby eliminating the need for a separate customs form.
Business customers can install the APIs into their e-
commerce Web sites or their own shipping operations to
make it easy for them or their customers to print shipping
labels without leaving their Web site or work station.
The APIs are easy to use and available at no charge.
Business customers simply go to www.usps.com/webtools
to register and review Postal Service technical guides that
provide step-by-step instructions for integrating the USPS
Web Tools.
If customers have any questions during installation of
the APIs, the Postal Service provides technical support
through its Internet Customer Care Center.
All the Web Tools You Need to Grow Your Global
Business!
APIs support a variety of shipping options to meet the
customers' international shipping needs. The Postal
Service's new Web Tools for its popular Global Priority Mail
and Global Airmail parcel post products allow businesses
such efficiencies as eliminating manual writing of forms as
well as the ability to interface with the internal and external
systems of their employees, business partners, and
customers.
Calculate Rates
The international rates API allows customers to calculate international rates for Global Express Guaranteed,
Global Priority Mail, Global Express Mail, Global Airmail
services (letter and parcel post), and Global Economy services (letter-post and parcel post). Along with service standards for each class of service, the international rates API
returns all the necessary Postal Service and country-
specific mailing restrictions, prohibitions, observations, and
customs declaration forms.
Print Shipping Labels
The shipping label API allows customers to generate
Postal Service shipping labels complete with sender and
recipient addresses, barcodes, customs declarations, and
mailing receipts for Global Express Mail, Global Airmail
parcel post, and Global Priority Mail. Customers do not
need separate customs forms when using these shipping
labels.
Generate Customs Forms
If the customer just needs to generate customs forms,
the customs forms API allows them to generate the customs forms complete with addresses, barcodes, and customs declarations for PS Form 2976 and PS Form 2976-A.
Use Track & Confirm
The Track & Confirm API allows customers to check the
status on their international shipments. Customers just
need to enter the article numbers to get the status on
shipments, and they can check up to five articles per
transaction.
