IMM Correction: Sanctions of Several Countries by the U.S. Department of the Treasury

In the article “IMM Revision: Sanctions of Several Countries by the U.S. Department of the Treasury” in Postal Bulletin 22201 (3-1-07, page 5), the list of countries affected by the sanctions and the telephone number listed for the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) in the U.S. Department of the Treasury were incorrect.

OFAC has imposed restrictions on packages sent to the following countries:

The correct telephone number for OFAC is 800-540-6322.

Consequently, in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®), we are removing the note about sanctions from the Individual Country Listings for the following countries:

We are also correcting OFAC’s telephone number in the note about OFAC sanctions in the Individual Country Listings for Cuba, Iran, and Sudan.

We will incorporate these corrections into the printed version of IMM 34 and also into the online version of the IMM, which can be accessed via Postal Explorer® at http://pe.usps.com.
