Pitch In For Baseball Information

Let Your Equipment Play Extra Innings

Pitch In For Baseball’s mission is to help kids and make friends all over the world by sharing the great game of baseball. They collect and give baseball equipment and other assistance to young people in underserved communities around the globe.

Pitch In For Baseball has four goals:

1. To support the growth of baseball in the U.S. and overseas.

2. To give kids equipment so they can get out, have fun, and stay healthy.

3. To teach kids important lessons through baseball like teamwork and sportsmanship.

4. To make friends across the world through America’s pastime.

Though invented in the U.S., many countries embrace baseball. Young players in the Pacific Rim and Latin America play the game with as much joy and success as kids in North America. Everywhere people play baseball, it becomes an important part of the culture and teaches kids many important lessons like teamwork and sportsmanship. It also gives kids the chance to be active, get fit, and have fun.

Step Up to the Plate

The gloves, bats, and other baseball equipment that are sitting in your closet or garage now can open a whole world of opportunities for a kid. Pitch in your gently used equipment or donate money to give the gift of baseball to a deserving child.

They’re accepting donations of new or gently used equipment such as the following:

What is the definition of “gently used”?

“Gently used” items are not damaged or in need of repair. The best way to think about something being “gently used” is if you would feel comfortable giving it to a friend or family member. If in doubt, go ahead and send it in.

Pitch It Right In Here

If you have a large quantity of items to send to Pitch In For Baseball, group the items by category. For example, ship bats in one box, gloves in another, etc.

If you are near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and have a large donation, you may choose to drive the items to the organization and see their operations first hand.

Who They Help

Kids all over the world enjoy the game of baseball. And through Pitch In For Baseball, even kids in impoverished communities can get the chance to play this wonderful game. The communities served often are struggling for their basic needs. We want to make sure that the kids in those communities aren’t overlooked.

Baseball gives them the structure and freedom to be kids so they can make good decisions for their future. Kids not only have fun, but also learn important lessons for their future like teamwork, sportsmanship, and dealing with adversity.

They ship new and gently used equipment to children all over the world, as well as here in the U.S. Anyone is eligible, so long as the community has a genuine need for youth baseball and softball equipment and the kids want to have fun. They normally work with leagues and programs in the community that have the ability to distribute the equipment and have a demonstrated track record of working with kids.
