The Return of the Cardboard Mail Tray

Cardboard Managed Mail tray.

Cardboard managed mail (MM) trays are making a welcome return engagement. Network Operations recently ordered 2 million new hi-tech cardboard MM trays and plans to order more. These are not the same cardboard MM trays that were used the 1990s. This latest version is made of water-resistant paper and has a new self-locking design which extends the service life cycle and helps reduce costs. They are 100% recyclable. When they are no longer useable, they can be included with other cardboard items destined for recycling. Plastic MM trays are becom­ing increasingly expensive as the price of oil and natural gas used to make them soars. These new trays are a much more cost-effective alternative to plastic trays and support our commitment to sustainability and green programs in the Postal Service™.
