The article titled “IMM Revision: Changes to Pricing and Mailing Standards for International Shipping Services” in Postal Bulletin 22352 (12-13-12, pages 84–96) included revisions in the Individual Country Listings (ICLs) for the insurance fee tables for Express Mail International® service, indicating an increased limit (from $100 to $200) for which Express Mail International shipments containing merchandise are insured against loss, damage, or missing contents at no additional charge.
However, in the edition of Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) published January 27, 2013 (which is when these revisions were to be effective), and in the subsequent editions of the IMM through April 2013, the insurance fee tables published for the following countries inadvertently did not reflect the revised limit and still showed a fee of $0.85 for an item insured for more than $100 up to $200:
n Belgium.
n Denmark.
n Finland.
n France.
n Germany.
n Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
n Greece.
n Iceland.
n Ireland.
n Italy.
n Luxembourg.
n Netherlands.
n Norway.
n Portugal.
n Slovak Republic (Slovakia).
n Slovenia.
n Spain.
n Sweden.
n Switzerland.
n Turks and Caicos Islands.
Note: All of these countries except Germany have a maximum insured amount of $650, and Germany has a maximum insured amount of $500.
The correct text for the insurance fee tables appears in this article.
