The U.S. Postal Service® is revising Publication 28, Postal Addressing Standards, Appendix A, section A3, International Addresses, to reflect the name change of the “Province of Newfoundland” to “Newfoundland and Labrador”, and also to add the Territory of Nunavut.
Based on the current Canada Post Addressing Guide, the Province of Newfoundland incurred a name change to include the surrounding mainland area of Labrador, which resulted in the new Province name of “Newfoundland and Labrador”. Additionally, the Territory of Nunavut was created, which was previously part of the Northwest Territory, and encompasses most of the Canadian arctic.
