Effective January 26, 2015, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to reflect changes to the Individual Country Listings (ICLs) for Bangladesh, France, and Morocco.
The following ICL changes are a result of formal requests made through the Universal Postal Union (UPU) via International Bureau Circulars (IBC):
n Bangladesh: As indicated in UPU IBC 149, dated August 25, 2014, Bangladesh is prohibiting bearer cheques, bank drafts, credit cards, cash, and foreign currency in all postal items.
n France: As indicated in UPU IBC 118, dated July 14, 2014, France is prohibiting banknotes, coins that are current and legal tender in France, and precious metals in all postal items.
n Morocco: As indicated in UPU IBC 200, dated November 24, 2014, Morocco is adding the following restrictions: items containing food supplements must be sent with the relevant health certificates, and items of a medical nature must be sent with the relevant prescriptions. Additionally, Morocco is adding an observation that all commercial items must be accompanied by invoices.
