Effective January 17, 2016, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®) section 508.4.5.4 to clarify the maximum weight and dimension standards for private carrier packages addressed to competitive Post Office Box™ customers who are authorized to receive such packages at their Post Office Box address.
Although this revision will not be published in the DMM until January 17, 2016, these standards are effective immediately.

1. The option to use the Post Office street address for their mailing address along with customer’s box number preceded by # as follows:

2. Customers who choose to use the street addressing designation also have the option of receiving packages from private carriers at the customer’s Post Office Box address, if the packages conform to the maximum standards of 70 pounds in weight and 130 inches in combined length and girth.
