Effective January 22, 2017, the Postal Service™ will revise the Individual Country Listing (ICL) for Egypt in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to reflect that Egypt is prohibiting postal items containing liquids or lithium batteries, whether sent directly or in transit. Although not included in the IMM until January 22, 2017, these changes are already in effect.
This ICL revision is a result of a formal request made through the Universal Postal Union (UPU) via International Bureau Circular 179, dated November 14, 2016.
