Effective March 15, 2018, the Postal Service™ is revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to reflect a change to the Individual Country Listing for Costa Rica.
As a result of a formal request made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 17, dated February 19, 2018, Costa Rica is adding a prohibition on all firearms, except for those destined to a competent organization or entity that is officially authorized to handle them. Note: The mailer is responsible for determining whether the recipient organization or entity is authorized to handle such items.
