Effective January 31, 2019, the Postal Service™ is revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to reflect changes to the Individual Country Listing for the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland.
As a result of a formal request made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 154, dated November 5, 2018, ParcelForce Worldwide, part of Royal Mail Group Ltd., is revising the customs clearance fee. The Postal Service is adding a new observation for items subject to customs charges delivered by Parcelforce Worldwide to reflect a single-import customs clearance fee of 12 pounds sterling (GBP) for all low-value parcels subject to customs charges — i.e., those whose declared value is more than 15 GBP (for merchandise) or 39 GBP (for gifts), but not more than 873 GBP. Parcelforce Worldwide will continue to charge a flat fee of 25 GBP for high-value goods of more than 873 GBP.
