IMM Revision: Individual Country Listing for Brazil

Effective February 14, 2019, the Postal Service™ is revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to reflect changes to the Individual Country Listing for Brazil.

As a result of a formal request made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 146, dated November 5, 2018, Empresa Brasileira de Correios e Telégrafos (ECT) is including additional language to the observation regarding the charge for items presented to Customs. ECT is introducing a presentation-to-customs charge called “Fee for Postal Dispatch” with a current value of 15 Brazilian reals (BRL). If the addressee has not properly paid this fee, ECT will return the item to the sender.
