Effective February 14, 2019, the Postal Service™ is revising Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to reflect changes to the Individual Country Listing for Latvia.
In a formal request made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 174, dated December 3, 2018, State Joint Stock Company “Latvijas Pasts” requests the inclusion of the addressee’s landline or mobile telephone number (if available) on the address label or customs form on each item sent to Latvia with any of the following services:
n Registered Mail®.
n First-Class Package International Service®.
n Priority Mail International®.
n Priority Mail Express International®.
This contact information enables Latvijas Pasts to alert the addressee, particularly via short message service (SMS) or other means of notification, that the item is due for delivery or is available for collection.
