Effective October 18, 2020, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), sections, 601.1.1.2 and 601.1.1.3, and add new section 601.1.1.4 to clarify the standards for placing an address on First-Class Mail® postcard-priced pieces.
Currently the standards in the DMM regarding the placement of the address on First-Class Mail postcard-priced pieces are generally included under letter-size pieces.
Although the Postal Service will not publish these revisions in the DMM until October 18, 2020, the standards are effective immediately.

The placement of the address on a First-Class Mail priced postcard-size mailpiece under 101.6.2 and 201.1.2 may render a piece nonmailable. Postcard-size pieces with the address parallel to the shorter dimension are nonmailable.
