DMM Revision: Money Orders

Effective October 18, 2020, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), section 509.3.3.9, to add a reference to the money orders application available online at usps.com.

The Postal Service recently launched the “Check the Status of a Money Order” feature on its online money orders application to replace the Money Order Inquiry System. See “Money Orders Application on USPS.com,” Postal Bulletin 22552, (8-13-20, page 15).

This DMM revision will make customers aware of the new money orders application available on USPS.com®, which provides ease of use in checking the status of a money order and a money order inquiry.

Although the Postal Service will not publish this revision in the DMM until October 18, 2020, the standard is effective immediately.
