Postal Service™ facilities may be subject to a variety of federal, state, and local environmental laws and regulations. Compliance requirements for each facility will be based on the operations and systems at the location, and in some instances, the state or local jurisdiction.
The Office of Sustainability (OoS) Environmental Compliance website has tools to help sites achieve compliance, including equipment-specific Environmental Compliance Bulletins and targeted stand-up talks. The Virtual Post Office and Virtual Vehicle Maintenance Facility compliance pages provide user-friendly visuals to direct visitors to the appropriate guidance. Also, there are dedicated Battery Recycling and Bulb Management pages that provide standard operating procedures to assist sites in proper management of these regulated wastes.
