IMM Revision: Individual Country Listing for Canada

Effective December 2, 2021, the Postal Service™ is revising the International Country Listing for Canada in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to note revisions to the listing of restrictions.

Theses revisions are based on a formal request that Canada Post (the designated postal operator of Canada) made through email consultation dated October 1, 2021.

Restrictions

[Revise the entry that begins with “Coins” to read as follows (also removing the note about “Exceptions”):]

Coins; banknotes; currency notes; securities payable to bearer; traveler’s checks; gold, silver, platinum, manufactured or not; precious stones; jewelry; and other valuable articles may be sent only in insured parcels.

Although effective December 2, 2021, the Postal Service will incorporate these revisions into the next edition of the online IMM, which is available via Postal Explorer® at pe.usps.com.
