DMM Revision: Priority Mail Board Game Large Flat Rate Box Discontinued

Effective April 4, 2022, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), sections 123.1.4.2, 223.1.6.2, and 703.2.1.2, for clarity and to remove references to the Priority Mail® Board Game Large Flat Rate Box.

The Postal Service has decided to discontinue production of the Priority Mail Board Game Large Flat Rate Box. This decision is based on the inability to run this box on package processing equipment, costs associated with manually processing this box, and reduced customer usage of this box in recent years.

The Postal Service will continue to provide domestic and Army Post Office/Fleet Post Office/Diplomatic Post Office (APO/FPO/DPO) Flat Rate prices to customers who present a Priority Mail Board Game Large Flat Rate Box for mailing. However, the Postal Service will no longer offer the Priority Mail Board Game Large Flat Rate Box. The Priority Mail Large Flat Rate Box will remain available as a Postal Service offering.

The Postal Service intends to ask that the Postal Regulatory Commission remove the applicable dimensional reference from the Mail Classification Schedule.

Although the Postal Service will not publish this revision in the DMM until April 4, 2022, the standards are effective immediately.
