Want to Reduce Waste? Recycle Toner and inkjet Cartridges

The USPS BlueEarth® Federal Recycling Program is our primary resource for recycling ink and toner cartridges. The program uses mail, which generates postage revenue while reducing waste to landfills.

The USPS BlueEarth Federal Recycling Program also allows USPS® employees to recycle their personal items, such as printer cartridges and small electronics, using the same process.

Recycling ink and toner cartridges through the USPS BlueEarth Federal Recycling Program is quick and easy:

n Go to the welcome page at fedrecycling.com.

n Follow the instructions to create an account, then enter your shipping information and print a shipping label.

n Pack cartridges in any unmarked box (suggested packing instructions are included with the label).

n Fill the box to avoid shipping a partially empty box.

n Place the label on the box and schedule a pickup or give it to your carrier.

To recycle personal items, follow the same instructions but select “Personally Owned Employee Property” when prompted.
