The United States Postal Service® is among the largest organizations in the country. With a workforce of more than half a million employees, ranging from letter carriers to the Postmaster General, securing the USPS® network may seem like an impossible task. But while adversaries may see 500,000 potential targets, CyberSafe at USPS® sees 500,000 of the best guardians of the network: our employees.
During October’s Cybersecurity Awareness Month, themed “Stay CyberSafe and Deliver for America,” we encourage you to expand your working knowledge of cybersecurity by visiting the CyberSafe page on Blue at blue.usps.gov/cyber. From interactive virtual cyber activities to informative videos, CyberSafe is an invaluable resource for spreading cybersecurity best practices.
Here are a few of the many programs CyberSafe has to offer:
n Monthly awareness campaigns. These important campaigns highlight materials, such as posters, infographics, newsletters, and other resources that provide cybersecurity best practices for both work and home.
n CyberSafe Guardians. A resource hub for the volunteers serving as points of contact at facilities across the country who spread cybersecurity awareness best practices to their networks.
n Virtual awareness activities. This resource provides pre-packaged, engaging awareness activities you can tailor to individual teams across the organization to help instill best practices and USPS policy awareness.
n CyberSafe Studio. A collection of short and entertaining videos made by the USPS Training and Awareness team that put cyberthreats into real-life scenarios to show the impact of making the wrong decisions.
n Incident reporting. This reporting tool promotes USPS’s phishing initiative — Report to CyberSafe — and provides steps to take if you think you’ve been a target.
This October, watch for more Cybersecurity Awareness Month materials and help USPS “Stay CyberSafe and Deliver for America.”
