A revised edition of Publication 100, The United States Postal Service: An American History, was published in September 2022.
The 156-page book has been updated through April 2022 and contains the new chapter “Delivering for America,” which includes new sections on the Delivering for America plan and the Postal Service Reform Act of 2022. The revised edition also contains new sections on the COVID-19 pandemic and the 2020 election, which describe the extraordinary efforts USPS® took to deliver the nation’s mail through challenging times.
Other sections cover the different modes of transportation used to move the mail through time, the rapid changes between the 20th and 21st centuries, stamps, employee diversity, and the United States Postal Inspection Service®.
