FAST for Periodicals: Accelerating Your Business

In September 2007, Postal Service™ facilities will require advance notification of Periodicals mailings through the Facility Access and Shipment Tracking (FAST) applica­tion. All Periodicals mailers must register in FAST by June 15, 2007, and should submit recurring appointments in FAST by July 31, 2007.

By scheduling Periodicals appointments in FAST, users will benefit from:

• Enhanced visibility for scheduled Periodicals drop shipments at each facility.
• Start-the-clock ability that allows for tracking drop shipments and receiving additional information regarding arrivals and unloading times.
• Ability for mailers to submit and manage recurring appointment requests online, eliminating the need to fax paper forms to facilities.
• Advance notification of redirections.
• Joint scheduling capabilities between schedulers, mail owners, and mail preparers.
