Publication 51 Revision: Bolivia — Service Suspension

Effective March 15, 2008, we are revising Publication 51, International Postal Rates and Fees, to reflect that Priority Mail International™ parcel service to Bolivia is suspended due to lack of available air transportation.

Until further notice, Post Offices™ must not accept Priority Mail International parcels destined to Bolivia. This suspension is applicable only to Priority Mail International parcels and does not include the Priority Mail International Flat-Rate Envelope or other international mail categories currently available to Bolivia.

For Priority Mail International parcels already deposited, Post Office employees must endorse them “Mail Service Temporarily Suspended — Return to Sender” and then place them in the mailstream for return. The Postal Service™ will refund postage and fees on mail returned due to the suspension of service, provided that the customer files an application in accordance with Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) 941 and 943.
