
On July 15, 2008, in Washington, DC, the Postal Service™ will re-issue the 10-cent American Clock definitive stamp (Item 784300) in a water-activated gum (WAG) coil of 10,000. The stamp, designed by Derry Noyes, Washington, DC, and illustrated by Lou Nolan, McLean, Virginia, goes on sale nationwide July 15, 2008.
The stamp was previously issued in the following formats:
- Item 108000 — January 24, 2003, pressure-sensitive adhesive (PSA) pane of 20 stamps.
- Item 784300 — August 4, 2006, WAG coil of 10,000.
Customers have 30 days to obtain the first day of issue postmark by mail. They may purchase new stamps at their local Post Office™, by telephone at 800-STAMP-24, or at the Postal Store® Web site at www.usps.com/shop. They should affix the stamps to envelopes of their choice, address the envelopes (to themselves or others), and place them in a larger envelope addressed to:

After applying the first day of issue postmark, the Postal Service will return the envelopes through the mail. There is no charge for the postmark. All orders must be postmarked by September 18, 2008.

The $1,000.00 American Clock, PSA coil of 10,000 (reprint variety) will not be automatically distributed to stamp distribution offices (SDOs). SDOs requiring quantities of this reprint variety of Item 784300 must order them from the appropriate accountable paper depository (APD) using a separate PS Form 17, Stamp Requisition/Stamp Return.
SDOs will not make a subsequent automatic distribution of this reprint variety of Item 784300 to Post Offices. All Post Offices requiring quantities of this reprint variety coil must order them from their designated SDO using PS Form 17. SDOs must not distribute this reprint variety coil to Post Offices before July 10, 2008.
Post Offices requiring additional quantities of Item 784300 must requisition them from their designated SDO using a PS Form 17. SDOs requiring additional coils must order them from the appropriate APD using PS Form 17.
For fulfilling supplemental orders from APDs, the Kansas City Stamp Services Center will receive 8,640 coils.
