IMM Revision: Individual Country Listing for Chile

Effective August 27, 2020, the Postal Service™ is revising the International Country Listing for Chile in Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, International Mail Manual (IMM®) to note that Chile requires that agricultural goods be accompanied by proper documentation, such as a phytosanitary certificate.

This revision is based on a formal request that CorreosChile (the designated postal operator of Chile) made through the Universal Postal Union via International Bureau Circular 100, dated July 13, 2020.

[Replace the current entry with the following text:]

As of July 9, 2020, agricultural goods are prohibited unless accompanied by proper documentation, such as a phytosanitary certificate. In accordance with the rules established by Chile’s agriculture and livestock service — Servicio Agrícola y Ganadero (SAG) — Chilean authorities will seize and destroy restricted goods that lack the proper documentation. Information on SAG import authorizations and required documentation is available at sag.gob.cl.
