DMM Revision: Priority Mail Cubic

Effective July 9, 2023, the Postal Service™ will revise Mailing Standards of the United States Postal Service, Domestic Mail Manual (DMM®), section 223.1.3.1, to clarify the characteristics for Priority Mail® cubic mailpieces.

The Postal Service is revising section 223.1.3.1 to specify that each cubic mailpiece, including soft packs and padded envelopes, must measure .50 cubic foot or less, weigh 20 pounds or less, and the longest dimension may not exceed 18 inches. This revision will provide clarity and consistency in the characteristic standards for Priority Mail cubic mailpieces.

Although the Postal Service will not publish this clarification in the DMM until July 9, 2023, this standard is effective immediately.
