The Postal Service strongly recommends that all Election Mail envelopes, including previously approved designs, be reviewed by a Mailpiece Design Analyst (MDA) each year prior to mail printing. MDAs can provide guidance on envelopes that meet the Postal Service’s processing requirements, answer questions about mailpiece design, give advice on evaluating mailpieces for automation discounts, provide technical assistance on the
Postal Service’s envelope standards, and help construct mailing plans.
