The Postal Service is continuing its’ promise to provide long term solutions to best serve customers by
making some changes to CDS (Contracted Delivery Services), this time. Several routes were split to realign schedules to better meet the needs of customers, then added contract owners and hired several new employees. There are now four additional routes to meet customer expectations. This has provided additional carriers and vehicles, enabling them to deliver more packages to the street which then reduced the need for customers to pick up mail parcels at the Post Office.

Additional staffing was also provided at the Wasilla Post Office to assist at the window, answer phones and address customer concerns. Additionally, maintenance staff are working on several remodeling projects which will include adding a Passport Office and also a parking lot that is scheduled in the Spring of 2020 to facilitate smooth flow of traffic.

As previously reported, the Postal Service has invested tens of thousands of dollars in parcel lockers both at the Annex and Main Office to be utilized for the contract routes to relieve congestion and reduce lobby lines.
