ANCHORAGE, AK — On Tuesday morning, April 26, a USPS Highway Contract semi-truck departed from the Anchorage, AK, Processing and Distribution Center and caught fire, destroying the trailer and its contents. Fortunately, the driver is safe with no injuries.
The truck was transporting mail for: Kenia 99211, Kasilof 99610, Clam Gulch 99568, Ninilchik 99639, Anchor Point 99556, Homer 99603, Fritz Creek 99603 Halibut Cove 99603, Nanwalek 99603, Nikolaevsk 99556, Port Graham 99603 and Nikiski 99635. The cause of the fire is currently unknown but under investigation.
Affected customers are being sent a letter.

The Postal Service generally receives no tax dollars for operating expenses and relies on the sale of postage, products, and services to fund its operations.
