Job Fair to Promote USPS Opportunities in Bessemer

Bessemer, AL — Whether you’re visiting the Post Office to mail your last-minute income tax form Monday, April 18, Jefferson County residents who are seeking employment will want to attend a free job fair between 9 a.m. and 5 p.m. on that date:

The local postal management team will be onsite to promote current employment opportunities, including Assistant Rural Carrier (ARC) and Rural Carrier Associate (RCA).

At $19.06 per hour, an ARC will deliver and collect packages along routes in rural area. This employee also will provide a variety of services to customers along an assigned route and may be required to provide a personal vehicle. An ARC may opt to provide service to the Bessemer community on weekends and holidays or up to seven days each week. Job seekers who enjoy working outdoors will want to explore this employment opportunity.

An RCA salary also is $19.06 per hour. This employee delivers and collects packages along routes  in rural areas during weekdays, weekends, and holidays. An RCA also will provide a variety of services to customers along an assigned route. This employee may be required to use a personal vehicle if a postal vehicle is not provided.
